Page, Ancient Indian Artifacts

Yesterday I got a few sunrise pictures of the area and dam.  Then Mike and I ventured out to an area several miles outside of Page that we learned had a lot of ancient Indian artifacts and were happy to find that it did indeed!  There was so many pottery pieces and so much scrim (from making arrowheads) that we had a hard time not stepping on any of it.  It was exciting to see so much!  We had a great time looking around.

I'm a little behind. Have some catching up to do.  Took a couple of days off because day before yesterday, the 3rd, was a travel day and not much happened.  An uneventful (that is the way we like it) trip from Moab, UT to Page, AZ.  Got a couple of pictures of Monument Valley but the sky was hazy and it was not a good pic day.  Yesterday was my birthday which we went out to celebrate in Page and yes I had a little to drink and no I did not feel like blogging last night:)

Page is the home of the Glen Canyon Dam.  The dam forms Lake Powell fed by the Colorado River.  Lake Powell is very picturesque and I will be taking many pics I'm sure.  We are hoping the weather warms up a bit as there is so much to do here as well.  Enough chatter, some pics!

Moab, Part 2 of Canyonlands Yesterday

Could not put all the pics on one blog cause it's just too much at one time.  So, here are the rest of the pics from yesterdays hikes.  I was tickled to get the first pic of the footprint as it turned out to be from a bobcat!  All of the pics of the arches are of the same arch, Mesa Arch.  It was a good photo arch, what can I say!  enjoy!

Moab, Canyonlands Nat'l Park, Neck Springs Trl

Today is our last full day here in Moab....what an amazing time it has been!  There is so much to do and so much beauty here but it is cold now and time to work our way to a warmer climate!  As much as we have done, we have left some things to do when we come this way again.

Yesterday we went back to Canyonlands to do the Neck Springs Trail and Mesa Arch Trail.  The following pictures are from the Neck Springs Trail.  What a great walk!  Started off in the canyon and ended up on the plateau.  We finally saw a couple of deer. The critters have been hiding from us.
