Istanbul Turkey, walk along the Sea of Marmara

We took a nice stroll along the coast of the Sea of Marmara.  A lovely evening.

I miss seeing Allie via facetime and talking to everyone but the time change has turned out to be a bit of a pain in that area!  I guess I can make it until we get back to the US, which is all too soon.  Only a couple more days now as we head back to Apache Junction, AZ, on Monday.

Istanbul Turkey, How Bazaar!

Our first trip to the bazar, a lot of fun!  A lot to see too!  The mosque you see here is called the "new mosque" because it is only 100 years old.  Too funny.  It is near one of the entrances to the bazar.

We have been very busy these past few days and have a few more things to do before heading back to the US on Monday.  Once again, I have so much material for my blogs and will be running behind.  Heck, I never caught up before we flew here! :)

Istanbul Turkey, The Day After....the wedding!

The day after Paul and Pnar wed we went with them to the police station, "downtown" to check on the next step in Paul's residency.  We had to take a ferry and cross the Bosphorus to do so.  Any running around here in Istanbul is an adventure as most people don't have cars.  It is a city of 25 million and it is kind of silly to buy a car when the public transportation is so good.  However, it does take more time and planning and one does have to keep that in mind.  So if you do have business to take care of, you mix it with pleasure if at all possible....and that is what we did.  No pictures of the police station as it was a boring looking government building.
