The Library of Congress is, without a doubt, one of the most beautifully ornate buildings in the US. It is also a must see when in DC!

Thomas Jefferson sold his entire collection of 6500 books after a fire (the British) destroyed the original library which was, at that time, located in the capitol in 1814. This special room contains what is left of that collection. |
