Myrtle Creek OR, Wildlife Safari

My daughter and son in law drove down from Ridgefield, WA for a few days to attend a Shakespeare play in Ashland and then a couple of days with us here.  Yesterday we went to the Wildlife Safari in Winston.  It is one of those drive through in your own car situations and it was quite good!  Having these large animals come so close to the car is a bit unnerving sometimes but adds to the fun.  Watching the rhino come down off the hill and close to some cars was really fun!

They have a large and very successful cheetah breeding operation.  The cheetah is on the verge of extinction in the wild and they are working hard to make sure that does not happen.  Sometimes, though, mother nature has other ideas....the baby cheetahs you see below were born Feb 29th of this year but abandoned by their mother a few days later and so must be raised by humans.  They were with their employee handlers when we saw them....so cute!  The one with the broken leg broke it playing but it is going to be alright.

awwww, a baby wildebeest

a rainbow boa,  incredible!

Felicia and Jeff, we did not get the story behind the heads unfortunately!
