Devil's Tower, Wyoming

Sunday, while still in Moorcroft, we drove to Devil's Tower.   It is a sacred place to Native Americans and you can see prayer cloths and bundles tied to trees all over the area. The weather was perfect and we spent the day there.

I took a lot of pics of this rock!  It looked so different as we walked around it and the light changed.  There were people climbing it.....crazy!  There are about 7 1/2 miles of trails below the tower and we enjoyed them all.  Beautiful area!

On the way to
Devils Tower
we saw hundreds
of white
pelicans on
Keyhole
Lake!

Note the prayer cloths hanging from the tree below:

The next three pics have climbers in them!

In this pic on the right is also an old wooden ladder built right into the crack for easy access to the top;)

Mike is in this pic too:
Some of the foothills at the base of the tower:

Watching the prairie dogs in the fields below the tower was a lot of fun!

This youngster was right next to the road and not bothered by the cars at all!
