Gerryowen, MT, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument

We have spent the past 3 days in Gerryowen, MT.  Lots of green, rolling hills with yellow and purple wildflowers everywhere and temps in the high 80s to low 90s.  We chose an RV park located near the Little Bighorn Battlefield, the 7th Ranch RV Camp, and were very happy with the park which is kept up beautifully with level spaces and a lovely view.

Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument memorializes a major battle fought on June 25th, 1876, between Lakota, Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians, against the US Army.  The tribes were trying to preserve their traditional way of life and the army was under instructions from the Grant Administrations to remove the Indians to the Sioux Reservation.  It was a decisive, if short lived, victory for the Indians.....and it was Custers Last Stand.
