Yuma AZ, Vegetables!

Not long after arriving here in Yuma, I mentioned that Yuma is the winter lettuce capitol of the world.  Since then, I have come to learn they are the winter vegetable capitol of the world....not just the leafy stuff.

I have had Mike pull over to the side of the road so many times to try and get a good sampling of the veggies grown in this area.  It really is amazing.  You cannot drive anywhere around here without passing miles and miles of veggie fields.  They also grow citrus and dates but its the billions of veggie plants that really stand out:

cabbage

celery

artichoke

broccoli

veggies and dates!

cutting celery....

and cleaning, bagging and boxing it up

garlic

onions

this is all lettuce
