No Name Trail

This trail was a fun walk up a canyon that actually had water in it!  It really does not have a name that we could find.  We saw a group of people parked at the entrance to the canyon last weekend when we were on our way somewhere else and were curious as to why they were checking out that particular place so we put it on our list of places to check out and did so.

The canyon is located just past Elephant Butte Dam and it looks as though the water from the canyon makes it way into the Rio Grande, however, it disappears underground before reaching the river so you can't actually see it flowing into the river.

these cormorants were hanging out enjoying the morning sun on our way to the canyon

the entrance to the canyon, at this point we still did not know what we were in for...

and then there was water and more water....

little waterfalls.....

a lot of pretty green thrown in...

and some interesting areas to navigate....

still fall color in these parts;)

lots of color in the rock as well!

always nice when they pose for you!

fun hike!
