Enchanted Rock SP, TX

So excited to talk about a hike!  We drove west through Fredericksburg to hike in Enchanted Rock State Park.  Found it to be a very scenic area and really enjoyed exploring it.  We did 7 1/2 miles and felt is as we have not done anything near that in several weeks.  It was about time;)

Enchanted Rock is a pink granite dome 400 ft high, the second highest of it's kind in the US.  Nice view from the top of the surrounding Hill Country.  A very popular place we were happy we did not wait till the weekend to go.  The temperature was in the low 60s when we finished up for the day and we were very warm.  Suggest going early in warmer weather!

took the black shirt off right after this pic, whew! warmed up fast in the sun!

several "ponds" and "cactus gardens" on top of the dome
