Monahans Sandhills State Park, TX

We spent 4 days in Monahans Sandhills State Park this past week.  Located about 25 miles west of Odessa, TX, it has many acres of lovely shifting sand dunes.

We did learn a lesson.....will never stay in sand dunes again!   We did not realize we would be smack in the middle of the dunes and we had winds of 20-30 mph at least the first 2 days!  But it was pretty:)

While at Monahans, we drove into Odessa and visited the Odessa Meteor Crater Natural National Landmark, interesting but the crater is filled in and not much to see.  We also spent some time in the  Presidential Archives and Leadership Library and Museum in Odessa which was worth a look.
