Hubbell Trading Post NM

We were able to check out the historic Hubbell Trading Post NM now that the parks have reopened.  Established in 1876 by the Hubbell family to provide goods to the Navajos, it is still operation by a non-profit organization.  It was full of treasures.  Beautiful jewelry, rugs, and baskets.  Had a good time looking around and watching the weaver working on her beautiful rug.

This Navajo learned to weave at age 24 and has been at it for 36 years.  Look at that beautiful design!

The rug room.  There were stacks and stacks of rugs on both side of this room costing anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars...and they were all beautiful!
