Cochise Trail, Dragoon Mountains
We drove out to the Dragoon Mountains to the Cochise Stronghold. Another beautiful area! Chief Cochise was said to have a hide-a-way that was never found and it is easy to see why as the area is full of rocky canyons. We hiked the Cochise Trail which took us from the East Stronghold up and over the mountain to the West Stronghold. An elevation change of over 1,000 feet and we had to do it twice as it was an out and back. A nice workout, beautiful trail and a beautiful day!
