Off to Phoenix!

It has been an enjoyable month exploring the Willcox area.  Today we drive Paradise to north Phoenix to be near family and we have family flying in to enjoy Christmas together.  Yes......this means grandchildren!  Yay!

Here are some last little adventures:

We spent a morning doing a hike and exploring the Indian Bread Rocks Rec Area, a scenic little spot.

nice shady picnic area on the left

Yes, that's me.  This balance rock was slipping and I had to push it back up into place a bit;)
Here we had just driven past the pecan groves and stopped to watch machines fill huge bags of pecans for transport.....

Aridus Wine Company recently opened this facility in Willcox and Mike and I were driving by and saw the gates open so we decided to pop in....

They make the wine for most of the vineyards in the area.....
Katherine gave us a tour of the facility and said they will soon be opening the tasting room which will feature not only their wines but wines from other vineyards.  That will be nice!

Yesterday, Sat afternoon, we drove over to Zarpara one more time for their Winter Wine-derland weekend and enjoyed one last visit, our 3rd, with Rhona and Mark.  That is snow on the mountains behind the vineyard....

Rhona and Mark have some pretty tasty wines at Zarpara!

  1. We heard that Indian Bread Rocks was a good place to boondock in the area. Nice to see your photos of the area since we never drove off the main road to check it out!
