Two Rivers, WI

We left Arbor Vitae this morning and are now in the town of Two Rivers on Lake Michigan.  Mike has family here so we will be visiting and spending time with them and his mom and aunt who drove up from Las Vegas!  We will be here for 10 days.  Once again we are on one of the Great Lakes!

Here are pics of the last couple of days in the Arbor Vitae area:

We headed north on Hwy 51to look for a couple of waterfalls and stopped along the road at some cranberry bogs.  The fields are just young plants with flowers now but we had a nice surprise when we saw a Sandhill Crane family working their way across the fields to the forest:

 This is the Lake of the Falls, falls.

Pulled over on the side of the road to get a pic of a wild turkey family disappearing into the forest.  How many babies can you see?

 These little towns do like their big statues!  This loon looks a bit scary !

 Also right off Hwy 51 is Little Bohemia Lodge. Known for being a hide out for John Dillinger and his gang.  It was also featured in the 2009 movie, Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp.  We figured that was as good a reason to stop and have a beer;)

 In the dining room, you can eat while you look out windows shattered by bullets fired during the gun fight between the Dillinger gang and the FBI.
