Baker NV, Great Basin NP pictographs

Had another wonderful hike up in the park and I will get to it later because I want to share a couple more things from our hike on Saturday.  Before we did the Pole Canyon trl, we stopped to check out some pictographs near the road that Ranger Carolyn told us about.  The pictographs were done with red ochre paint by the ancient indians.  You must look very closely to see them as they are very faded with time.

can you see some red paint over the little cave and down to the right?

this little guy has a home somewhere in the rocks near the paintings

note figures below red dots...a lot more faded

see what looks like red spots on the black?.....more paint

Ranger Carolyn was actually checking out the pictographs as we were heading back to the jeep after the hike
