Baker, NV, gateway to Great Basin National Park

We made the drive from Wells, NV, to Baker, NV.  It was a relatively uneventful drive.  I say uneventful drive because it was 200 miles of very straight, not very scenic road.  We saw signs for pronghorn but did not see one.  Mike did spot a fox or coyote in a field, he wasn't sure which and I was driving at the time.  It did become more scenic as we approached the Great Basin NP area.

The "relatively" part of the drive happened when the parking brake ding and light came on as we were driving, you know, the one we had repaired in Marysville, WA.  At this point we are probably going to live with it until we get to the dealership in Prescott, AZ later this month as we need to have several things addressed in the motorhome anyway.

Looking forward to exploring the park!  We will be here 4 full days leaving the 10th to drive down to Vegas.  We are staying at the Whispering Elms RV Park here in Baker. It is the only RV park in the tiny town.  It is not much to speak of but we have good wifi.  Interestingly enough, for the first time, we have no cell service.  That is weird.

We are right across the street from the GBNP visitor center so we walked over there after getting set up to talk to the ranger and make a plan of what to see and do for the next few days.

Believe it or not, I have no pics today.  I know, I know, it is a first but you can be sure there will be pics tomorrow!:)

I want to say hi to Lisa and Hans.  We met them at the park in Wells, NV.  They are also newly retired and full timers!  We plan on following each others exploits and, hopefully, will meet up with them down south in the warmth this winter sometime!
