We have spent the past 2 1/2 days in Grand Teton NP after 2 wonderful weeks in Yellowstone NP. Knew Grand Teton would be awesome but had no idea just how awesome!! We stayed in a park campground with no hookups or internet but really had no time to think about what we were missing.
If you go to visit Yellowstone, you must include Grand Teton!!!
We left Grand Teton this morning and are spending 2 nights in Landry, WY. It has rained most of the day and more rain is expected so I don't know how much we will see of this area by foot anyway! In the meantime maybe I can get caught up a bit on Grand Teton. Here was our first incredible half day there!
Leaving Yellowstone on the 12th we drove through rain to Grand Teton.
Our first view of the Tetons.....
Just a couple of miles from our campground, Gros Ventre, we spotted this small heard of pronghorn
After getting settled in, we drove over to the Craig Thomas Visitor Center....
There were lots of displays involving moose so we were hoping for some moose sightings!
The Tetons looked beautiful with the clouds....
Yep, a glacier
Evening view across Jenny Lake, we decided to hike there next day.....
Okay, now we've seen pronghorn and deer.......
Beautiful rainbow after the showers.......
Note the pronghorn with rainbow in the background.......
We decided to take a drive around Antelope Flats near our campground and saw a large herd of bison getting ready to cross the road in front of us!......
So we stopped, of course, and watched them!
There were hundreds!
And this was just our first afternoon at Grand Teton!!!
A picture journal of our (Keyna and Mikes') adventures in Paradise (our motorhome) as we travel the USA.
