So we had a great first day together driving into the park and doing the Snyder Lake Trl. An 8.8mile round trip trail with a 2147 ft elevation change was quite different from what we have been doing the past months in WA where were at sea level most of the time! It was wonderful of course and we did see a bit of wildlife:
Mike, Hans and Lisa |
a cute little pica posed for us, he was jumping all over the rocks |
Lisa checking out some bear scat, pretty fresh!! |
Snyder Lake |
this mushroom had spiky little knobs all over it |
this doe and her two fawn were trying to get by us on the trail to get to the lake, very cool! |
touching moment though not a clear pic unfortunately! |
Snyder Lake with full sun |
could see this waterfall on the rock wall behind the lake |
we could have used a machete for some of this trail! |
Lisa gazing at Lake McDonald the largest lake in Glacier |
Lake McDonald Lodge |
Lake McDonald |
taking a break by the lake |
these restored buses have been taking people on the Going to the Sun Road in the park since 1914! |
Good times! So glad we got to meet up again and spend some trail time together!
