As the title implies, yesterday we went to visit Schramm State Park. It is just about 6 miles from where we are at the Gretna exit of the I-80. I have been there a few times in the past on previous visits out here and always enjoy it.
Schramm is a defunct fish hatchery. It has about 2 miles of trails through a wooded area and the old hatchery which is alway fun to walk around as it is teeming with not only trout, it's original purpose, but many other types of fish that people have probably tossed in over the years since it closed. There are ducks and frogs and turtles as well to see. It is a quaint little place to have a picnic.
The weather was beautiful and we had a great time.
