Woodland WA, Fort Vancouver

After we left the Pearson Air Museum, we walked over to the fort:



this is where they baked "hard tack" a staple for the troops that resided there


the hospital



the fur warehouse 


the fort was never involved in a conflict, the canons were fired for ceremony only

the wood shop made everything!

.....and if you did not behave



the wealthy fur traders were able to live in much nicer homes ....


business was often conducted over the midday meal



yes, the beds were short, they used lots of pillows and slept almost sitting up
